THE BAND

GEDfest 2023

Hailing from Calgary, AB, Trickle Down was initially born to play GEDfest.. Frontman Dave Harris (vocals), Keith Dyck (drums), Ken Bilous (bass), Jeff Hiscock (guitar), and Carl Heinrich (guitar), came together under the shared idea that doing good, and having a good time go hand in hand. Infusing their own unique style, they are a tribute band in the classic sense, they seek to capture the energy, musicality, and spirit of the late Gord Downie and the Tragically Hip.

All professionals by day, budding rock icons by night, Alberta’s premiere Tragically Hip tribute act Trickle Down shouldn’t be missed.

DAVE HARRIS

Vocals

Dave Harris brings both power and passion as Trickle Down’s frontman, capturing the essence of Gord Downie with a voice that’s been years in the making. Starting out on bass at 13 and later graduating to vocals because no one in the band could sing, Dave honed his skills through countless hours of practice and guidance from renowned vocal coaches, including the Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy. By day, Dave works as a geologist in Calgary’s bustling oil industry, but on stage, he’s a vocal powerhouse, blending Downie’s essence with his own flair. A fan of ’80s metal, blue-eyed soul, synth-pop, and mellow jazz, Dave enjoys red wine, rum, cigars, and dreams of yachts — even if he doesn’t quite own one yet.

CARL HEINRICH

Guitar

Carl Heinrich brings decades of passion, precision, and pure rock energy to Trickle Down. A guitarist since age 12 (after a fateful encounter with Led Zeppelin), Carl cut his teeth in bands from the age of 13 and hasn’t looked back—except to adjust the gain. Though life called him to focus on family and career in his early 20s, music never left his side. Instead, he dove deeper into the craft, building and engineering recording studios across Montreal, Vancouver, and Calgary. With 12 studio builds under his belt and a thriving part-time recording space still humming, Carl is as comfortable behind the board as he is shredding onstage.

Now balancing five active bands, a full-time career in the music industry, and daily guitar sessions just for the love of it, Carl lives and breathes music. Influenced by legends like Eric Clapton and the cinematic soundscapes of Hans Zimmer—with a proud nod to Canadian icons like The Tragically Hip—Carl’s playing brings depth, soul, and that unmistakable spark to Trickle Down.
